Lucy Xue is a multi-disciplinary artist based in the Los Angeles area. She graduated from Ringling College of Art and Design in 2016 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts, majoring in Computer Animation.
For the first few years of her career, she worked as 3D Generalist, creating work for companies including Marvel, Hasbro, NHL, Netflix, and Nicalis. Most notably, she was the lead 3D modeler for the Google Spotlight Stories VR short film Age of Sail, which won several Annies, a VES award, and was shortlisted for an Oscar.
Eventually, she left the 3D world to hone her 2D art skills, primarily focusing on comics, illustration, and product design. As a comic artist, she has worked on publications by Penguin Random House, First Second, and Webtoon Originals. In the world of merchandise, her clients include Apex Legends, Glitch Productions (The Amazing Digital Circus), Sleep Deprived, and several other well-known YouTube content creators.
In her personal art practice, Lucy writes and draws her own comic, Ash in the Wind, and runs a small stationery business, Lucky Dewdrop Designs. When she’s not working on those, she’s engaged in her endlessly rotating list of hobbies that include gardening, wildlife spotting, crafting, and more.
